The longer rides will have a waterstop at the Visitors Center in the refuge. You can pause here and learn about the make upof the refuge along with what types of animals it supports. Also the location of the hiking trails and fishing lakes. From the Visitors Center you may ride back by Mt. Rode the Hills From Hell ride yesterday, and am looking forward to more rides through this beautiful part of Oklahoma. Will there be any info on the web showing the routes?

Thank you Scott for visiting the site! I am posting the map of routes, as they should be close to final. If there are any changes they will be posted.

Is there a profile of each ride? What are the longest and highest elevation changes?

I would like to make sure I’m up to the challenge before signing up.

Are there camp sites that a guy can reserve for a tent or is it first come, first served kind of thing? Does anyone happen to know?

I could use some clarification on the different mileage routes. The map and website call for 20 and 30 mile routes, but the brochure calls for 25 and 36 miles. This may seem kind of nit picky, but I am early in my training and I want to make sure I pick the route that is closest to my training schedule. Thanks.

Matt, I have stayed at Camp Doris before. It is on a first come, first served basis however. It is on the refuge, and a very nice campground. Lots of wildlife. There may be other camping in the area, but I am not that familiar with other camping sites in that area. Here is a link:

    Hi,
I’m thinking of doing the 20 mile ride. Is it hilly or flat?

  10. Danon 23 May 2010 at 10:33 pm 10

I would like to see a better map posted. is there any way to know the route before hand? I live local and would like to have a idea before i sign up

I just want to make sure what the length of the routes are. The brochure and the website show different lengths. Will there be a real 20 mile. What about the elevation changes? I really need to know before we decide if we are coming Saturday or not.

The leg lengths are as follows; FT Sill Historial Ride – 11.6 miles, Tower Two Road Ride – 18.5 miles, Letra Lake Road Ride – 33 miles, Medicine Park Lake Road Ride – 43.5 miles, and Meers Route – 59 miles. All new maps will be posted to reflect each route.
