Riding responsibly in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge
- Cattle Guards…Go quickly and do not turn your wheel. You may want to ush your bike across the cattle guard.
- Ride single file whenever there is traffic. Give the cars room to pass.
- WATCH OUT FOR BUFFALO AND OTHER CRITTERS. They are wild and hard to predict, especially in the spring when they have babies.
- Mountain Bikers: There is only one approved trail for mountain bikers which rouns on the north side of Mt. Scott. Entry just east of Mt. Scott, exit on highway 115 to Meers.
- Helmet use is mandatory in the Rufuge and on Ft. Sill.
- If you have time, stop in at the Visitors Center, you can learn all about the Refuge and events.
