Riding responsibly in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

  1. Cattle Guards…Go quickly and do not turn your wheel. You may want to ush your bike across the cattle guard.
  2. Ride single file whenever there is traffic. Give the cars room to pass.
  3. WATCH OUT FOR BUFFALO AND OTHER CRITTERS. They are wild and hard to predict, especially in the spring when they have babies.
  4. Mountain Bikers: There is only one approved trail for mountain bikers which rouns on the north side of Mt. Scott. Entry just east of Mt. Scott, exit on highway 115 to Meers.
  5. Helmet use is mandatory in the Rufuge and on Ft. Sill.
  6. If you have time, stop in at the Visitors Center, you can learn all about the Refuge and events.
